Kenyan rap royalty Khaligraph Jones alias OG, and his Tanzanian Counterpart Young Olunya Brought Nairobi’s Party scene to a standstill on Friday 20th of July. This is after throwing a ground-shaking bash at the Black Samurai lounge, the 2024 Hennessy Africa cypher listening extravaganza.
The two were featured in the cypher which was released in June this year. Young Lunya was elated to link up with OG for this party. Taking to his Instagram page Lunya said his reunion with khaligraph Jones is the ” Most expensive link up in Africa right now”. This is not the first time this two have worked on the same project. Last year in September, the Two African hip hop powerhouses collaborated on Lunya’s song “ Stupid”.
The Hennessy Africa cypher of 2024 is an eight minute piece of art, showcasing different musical styles and prowess by 6 prolific pillars in the hip hop scene across Africa. This years edition featured Kenya’s khaligraph Jones, Young Lunya of Tanzania, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Ivorian rapper Didi B, Ladipoe of Nigeria and Maglera Doe Boy of south Africa.
The Hennessy Africa cypher of 2024 is indeed the epitome Unmatched energy and style in the African Hip hop industry. The Hennessy Cypher series is an important platform for African hip-hop talent. Each new edition brings fresh creativity and supports the vibrant world of hip-hop and urban culture. Julie Nollet, the Hennessy global chief marketing office has noted that the hennessy cypher is much more than a hangout for artists. she says the Cypher is about poetry, community and inspiration and creativity and above all, an opportunity for growing artists to horn their craft.
