Instagram has unveiled a new music feature for profiles. This is reminiscent of MySpace’s early 2000s vibe. This update lets users add a 30-second song to their profile bios, bringing a nostalgic musical touch to modern social media. This update moves beyond merely embedding music in posts, allowing your profile to showcase a personalized soundtrack. Unlike Myspace or a celebratory card that blares music upon arrival, this feature keeps things cool and curated, letting you choose when to hit play.

“We’re excited to announce that you can now add a song to your profile, giving you more ways to express yourself through music. Your profile song selection will be live until you swap out the song,” Instagram said in a post.

To add a song to their profile, users should go to the “edit profile” section of their account. There, they can browse Instagram’s extensive library of licensed music, the same selection used for Reels and posts. After choosing a track, users can pick a 30-second segment to feature on their profile. This music snippet will stay visible until the user opts to replace or remove it

Instagram’s new music feature has been launched with a high-profile collaboration featuring pop star Sabrina Carpenter. Fans can now experience an exclusive preview of her latest track, “Taste,” directly on her Instagram profile. This song, from her upcoming album *Short n’ Sweet*, is available only through her profile until the album officially drops on Friday. By offering this sneak peek, Carpenter not only showcases the new feature but also creates a buzz leading up to the album’s release.

In addition to the music feature, Instagram has introduced several hidden features tied to Carpenter’s forthcoming album. For instance, using specific keywords like “Sabrina” or inserting a coffee cup emoji in temporary Notes messages will cause the text to turn light blue.
