“Do not burn, build” – Musician KRG on Protests

In light of the protests that have been going down in Kenya, it’s now very certain that not all Kenyan youth are reading from the same page. Leading this anti-protest faction is musician and entertainer Krg the Don. From the onset of the Gen Z anti-government protests that were triggered by the proposed finance bill of 2024, Krg the don called on the young people to tone down on the violence and to instead fight intellectually. “Tumieni akili sio nguvu”

The musician got so much backlash from the “rage and courage” protestors. His stance drew sharp criticism from impassioned demonstrators who accused him of insensitivity to the hardships faced by everyday Kenyans.
Few weeks later, the president caved in to the pressure triggered by protests, which saw him dissolving his cabinet which he’s currently reconstituting. Krg who now calls himself ‘msanii was president” noted that life should move on from the chaos caused during protests, since the president has delivered almost everything that Kenyans wanted, sentiments that enraged the passionate demonstrators even more.
” Boss Mkubwa H.E president Ruto has done almost everything we wanted as a nation”, the musician noted.
Concerning the #occupyjkia demonstrations that are set to go down today, 23rd of July 2024, Krg has called on the ” young leaderless and tribeless” protestors not burn down the country Since they are enraged on things that can be corrected with time. Quoting JFK, Krg has challenged the youth to think about what they can do for the country and not only what the country can do for them. In an Instagram post Krg noted, “JFK once said, Don’t ask a country what it can do for you, but what you can do for your country. I wanna build my country not to burn it coz I’m angry about a few things that can be changed”
