On Sunday afternoon, 28th of July 2024, streets and neighborhoods in Nairobi were empty as all roads led to the Laureate Garden for the iconic music concert series Blankets and Wine. Kenyan celebrities and all the music lovers in Nairobi conglomerated at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani for this quarterly concert. Featuring prominent figures from the African music industry, the event offers a major stage for these artists to not only set the mood but also interact with the audience. This is through their music, accented with subtle acoustic influences.
Despite having released the artists line up early enough, this edition left the fans in awe. A couple of spiced up their performances by throwing in surprises stopping performances. In an all black, sensual outfit, Nikita Kering gave a jaw dropping performance there after inviting Arbantone Singer Jeremy Maina Alias Lil Maina on stage to perform with her. Another “surprise” Duet at the concert occurred when the legendary JuaCali invited Sanaipei Tande on stage.
Others who performed at the event include Celebrated Musician and a quarter of sautisol, Savara. The iconic Savara did not only stun his fans with his performance, but also his dress code. Dagoz nomad brought a different vibe to the party with his afro boogie classics. This solidified the versatility of the musical platter offered at the blankets and wine. Taking to their Instagram page they noted;

Samthing Soweto and Yaba also did not come to play. each left their fans jazzed with their electric performances individually. Blankets and wine is a celebration of music, art, Fashion and food, and that’s exactly what went down on Sunday afternoon. Attendees showed up expressing themselves through their unique sense of style. The weather was abit chilly, but certainly Sunday was not the day for dressing simplistic and looking all groggy.
