The Buzz in Nairobi Kenya leading up to the highly anticipated Walker town concert was out of this world. However, everyone not even the organizers knew what lay ahead. Unfortunately, day two of the 2- day celebrated Festival didn’t unfold as planned. This is following the technical issues that aroused from the gate, when there was delays in tagging the attendees, to the bad weather which in turn affected the sound and the stage.
Despite the dedicated efforts by the organizers to rectify the mounting issues,
Miss Lauryn Hill’s performance was ultimately delayed, causing her set to start much later than the originally planned time. In addition, the ongoing technical difficulties proved insurmountable, leading to the heartbreaking cancellation of the much-anticipated performance by Nyashinski, Kenya’s legendary Musician, and one of the festival’s prominent brand partners. This left fans buzzing with disappointment, as many had eagerly awaited his return to the stage.
Taking to social media, enraged fans ranted about spending almost the whole night waiting for the nights action, but ended up being disappointed. While another batch ranted about Miss Lauryn hill hitting the stage late and for a short time, Nyashinski’s fans ranted about not having the “Shin experience” they had prepared for.
In response to the complaints by the fans
, EABL has announced that all ticket holders for Day Two of the 2024 Festival will receive a full refund of their money. According to the EABL, The refund process will be carried out over the next two weeks. They say this gesture is aimed at ensuring that festival goers receive compensation for an experience that fell short of their expectations. They attributed the disruptions on the second day of the festival to unforeseen technical issues, exacerbated by adverse weather conditions, which affected the sound system on ground.
